Whooo Are We…Who Who Who
I thought this would be a fantastic opportunity to introduce ourselves and explain who Mojo Alice is, and what we stand for!
This is going to be an exciting journey of pure Rock n Roll!
Mojo Alice is an original four-piece from Wellington, New Zealand. Formed in May 2016, we’re a guitar-based rock band with a heavy blue groove.
It was obvious from the very first time we got into a room together that something special was happening and we hit it off straight away.
Individually we are all very proficient in our chosen crafts… Bro-D on guitar, Matty Ray on the bass, Morpheus on the drums, and leading the band out front is our soulful and POWERFUL vocalist Jem.
However, when we are all together in the same room, the real magic happens……
Above all we are musicians, but as mentioned in the last post, we are music lovers and fans.
We all still go to gigs of our favorite bands when they come through town and have been known to pay for the odd meet and greet, just to get that picture with the band we have had listened to for the last 20 years.
I guess that makes us lucky to be on both sides of the fence. Being up on stage performing to our fans, and being able to be down rocking out looking up in awe of our heroes. It gives us a really lucky insight into what it is like to be on both sides.
And this is what makes Mojo Alice special. We see ourselves as a family band and the fans are apart of that family. We want to take you along for the ride with us. To see the good and the bad, achievements and fails. Really pulling the curtain back and giving an insight to our world.
Think of this as a little outlet from your busy lives. We all have busy lives outside the band as well; being a husband, being a wife, being a mother, being a father…It’s all hectic and it’s all fun and being part of a band environment only adds to the excitement. We are really grateful you have decided to let us into your hectic life!
As a surprise FOR YOU “MOJO MOFO’S” ONLY, Check out our second single “In My Head” in the lyric video below. It’s a kick-ass song with an upbeat blues groove.
And please leave a comment below and let us know what you think of the music you have heard so far!

Hello MOJO ALICE!!
This is one asskicking song!! Has a Great upbeat groove! Bro D’s guitar licks are just “killin it”!!
Morpheus’ powerful drumming sets up the flow of the song while Matty Ray’s driving bass comes through loud and clear and Gem’s booming vocals are the icing on the cake!!
Put it all together and the end result is an in your face, rockin tune with an old time feel to it!!

I like the song. It has a bit of the sound of one of my favorite bands of the late 80’s/early 90’s Junkyard. Keep at it. Discovered a little rock/blues band in 1972 called Aerosmith and have seen them 12 times. Maybe now it’s your turn!
Hey Dan,
Thanks for your message man. Yea I agree, Junkyard Kick-ass!
And Aerosmith is pretty bloody good as well.
Take it easy \m/
